At present days this all are used as decorative showpiece which is kept as a remainder of the rich old tradition and a symbol of prosperous.

Para is the traditional measuring vessel in Kerala, used to measure rice. After a good harvest season, 1 or more Paras of rice offering was made to the Gods at the local temple. This practice is still followed in Kerala for festivals and other occasions like Onam. The Para is filled with husked rice, and bunches of Coconut tree flowers are placed on top, signifying abundance. A traditional Interior Decor item that takes you back to the festivities of Kerala. This will add a touch of old-world charm to any drawing or living room. Para is of two types. While the nirapara is used for all auspicious occasions, the vadipara is used exclusively for the purpose of measuring.
